Hello, and welcome back to the theshoppie.com. We are now running on a server in Ontario, Canada and will see how that goes for the next little while. We will monitor the performance and traffic to make sure we have the correct hardware. If any of you notice significant issues regarding your use of the website, please let us know. We can’t fix what we don’t know about! The events that led to TheShoppie.com shutting down in April remain the business of David and Howard, suffice to say they were real and valid. My first request is that we leave it that way. I will not be commenting on these matters - my objective has been to get TheShoppie.com back on the internet. The theshoppie.com domain is now registered to my ownership and I carry the total responsibility for policy and direction of the web site. I want this web site to be an asset to Arbroath, a tool for it’s business community, an archive for stories, local lore and photographs, an excellent reflection on our home town, an interesting forum for Red Lichties near and far and a positive experience for all visitors. Sometime overnight the island in the middle of Keptie Pond gained two new visitors. As our picture shows one character is shown shouting "Help!" and the other "Bring back the boats". We assume the pranksters involved brought their own boat to reach the island!
The latest edition of Lonely Planet magazine described enjoying freshly made Smokies in the surroundings of the Harbour as "The very definition of summer". What a wonderful advert for our town - full story in the Arbroath Herald here.
