New Topic A NEWTON AVENUE ADDRESS FOR A MR.ROSS OF THE ANGUS TRAINING GROUP Posted by beeandceegee
02 Jul 2014 :  08:28:23 AM
Hi
I noticed online an address of 39 Newton Avenue,Arbroath for one John Ferguson Smith Ross formerly of Angus Training Group, a safety and training manager from 1988-1989.
This person could be a relation I am looking for in my family tree. He was born in 1931 and married Evangeline Mary Robertson.
I would like to get in contact but I'm picking the Newton Avenue address is a block of flats(looking at street view) and needs a flat number. I can't look in the phone book as I am overseas.
Is anyone able to look in the phone book for me? Or perhaps even know the area and names.
Thanks

My grandfather born in Arbroath left for new Zealand in 1905.
His parents were buried in the Arbroath abbey churchyard and they were Susan falconer millar1841_1921 and Robert hutcheon Carrie 1844_1890.
I am trying to find any living relatives possibly down the line from a William hutcheon Carrie Ross 1902_1981,possible son John b.1931.
Also in family middle names is falconer.
Thanks for looking.

New Topic LEFEVRE FAMILY IN SCOTLAND Posted by Lefevre
30 Mar 2015 :  11:31:52 AM
I am from the Netherlands and I am researching the Lefevre family in Scotland.
Born in or around 1733 Samuel Lefevre married Elizabeth Sangster in Aberdeen. I have tried all known search entries but could not find any info on where Samuel came from.
John Alexander Lefevre married 7 December 1918 to Mary Smith became the first Lefevre that settled in Arbroath. They lived at 120 High Street and 1 Hill Road. John was a butcher and had his shop at 208 High Street. He was also registered at Carroll Cottage, Ernest Street.
The couple had 6 children: John Alexander, Ernest Neal (former treasurer of Arbroath FC), Arthur Walker, Alfred, Herbert Victor (Tobacconist at High Street) and Ronald.
Son Arthur Walker Lefevre married Isabella Sturrock on 13 October 1917 at the United Free Church in High Street.
The couple lived at 55 Sidney Street had two children Helen Johnston married John Middleton and Herbert Victor Sturrock (Jock) Lefevre. Jock left in 1939 as a volunteer teacher for the Falkland Island and settled eventually for 50 years in Trinidad and Tobago.
Any information and or photos also from the related family members would be highly appreciated.
