Welcome to the website of the Grand Priory of Scotland, Scottish Knights Templar. As Scottish Knights Templar previously comprising the Grand Priory of Scotland of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (SMOTJ), but now wholly autonomous, we are an ecumenical, non-masonic Order focused upon service to humanity. In honourable and dedicated service, we seek to pursue the following aims and objectives; * Actively foster and encourage ongoing good relations between all through the encouraging of open communications and participation in projects and events of merit and substance. * Attempt to resolve conflict, large and small, through a process of mediation designed to guide conflicting sides to a better understanding of each other's position and points-of-view so as to encourage and foster a strong spirit of tolerance. * Promote service to one's own community - the active promotion of the spirit of community and togetherness * Actively seek to assist those in need within one's own community. * Foster a strong willingness and sense of obligation to look beyond the boundaries of the personal community to the broader community internationally and within which we must strive to affliate with others of a like-mind so as to strengthen ties, foster goodwill so as to be able to parttake in the actions necessary to alleviate not only pain and suffering through charitable and humanitarian actions but to assist in the encouraging of a spirit of conciliation between disagreeing factions and the instilling of the concept of a common responsibility by all to the wider notion of togetherness. Further, we undertake to; * Promote the Christian faith within a tolerant non-biased ecumenical framework. * Promote the values of a spiritual life and the benefits which are to be attained from such. * Seek to foster and sustain good relations with, and between all churches and creeds. * Actively promote religious tolerance.
