Arbroath Connections - JK Rowling

JK Rowling's Mother & Father met on a train travelling from King's Cross station to Arbroath in Scotland when they were both eighteen; Her father was off to join the Royal Navy, her mother to join the WRNS (the women's equivalent). (HMS Condor?) During the journey her mother said she was cold, her father offered to share his coat with her, and they got married just over a year later, when they were nineteen.

Another mention in one of her books - Quidditch Through the Ages

Guthrie Lochrin, a Scottish wizard writing in 1107, spoke of the "splinter-filled buttocks and bulging piles" he suffered after a short broom ride from Montrose to Arbroath.
