There is a thread like this on another forum I visit, it's used for chatting about anything at all that doesn't warrant a thread of it's own. Kind of like a running conversation of random snippets confused smile

I was reading a very well known book today and the word "UNLOOSENED" was used in a sentence about opening a collar. Surely if to loosen ones collar is to open it, to 'unloosen' it would be to fasten it! big grin

Um yes?! I think so big grin

Did everyone see/hear the storm lastnight? There was another quick flash and rumble this afternoon, in between the hailstones (?!?!) but apart from that I think we all survived rolling eyes rolling on the floor

1. unloosen - grant freedom to; free from confinement

2. unloosen - loosen the ties of; "unloose your sneakers"

was the character wearing sneakers as well as a tie? tongue

For, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

There was some awesome thunder about 3.35. It must have been very close by as it sounded like an explosion. The hailstones just after were a good size too, bet they hurt if you were caught out in it.

The hailstones nearly brained the birds that were on my feeders in the garden. They all dived for cover rolling on the floor I didn't think it was that cold today, strange weather indeed!

Just got back from a brilliant nursery outing to the bakery and cakeshop in Morrisons. They got to make crumpets, jammie donuts and fruit tartlets. I came home with a hyper 4 yr old (who was given a jammie donut and a milky way to eat while we were there) a slice of the giant crumpet they made, two packs of 5 donuts, the fruit tartlet and the donut she made while she was there. Anyone fancy a cuppie? rolling eyes rolling on the floor

I saw a commotioncouple of days ago in Colliston. All the sheep in the field were goingmental, then I realised the coos were too, running towards the edge of the field. Why? Well a whole load of kai had escaped and were rampaging through the adjacent fields crops. There was no gate on this field so wondered if they came onto road.

I have mice in my house angry

They dug up all the hedgerow and cut down the trees in the Christian Centre, and now all the mouses have moved into my house. I set traps this morning, laden with peanut butter but none caught yet rolling eyes They're Field Mice, very cute but wish they'd bugger off out of my house!

Maybe you need a cat to "take care of them"? I'd hire you mine - but he's so lazy I think he'd rather snooze and let the mice round around him. rolling on the floor

And I have a Jack Russell! He's useless too, it ran right past him but he was too busy wagging his tail and looking at me yelling instructions to him to "kill" that he missed it entirely. I blame it on his advancing years! Caught one in a trap, hopefully there'll be no more!
