Regarding playparks, the town tore some down when H&S legislation started to go ovewrboard in the late 80's early 90's. Remember the "Monkey Poles" at timmergreens primary school? There were some cracking climbing frames at Annfield park and the one whose name i don't know between Arbirlot Road and Emmislaw Drive. My favourites as a child were the "boat" at Camperdown in Dundee and at Crombie. My parents had to drag us away!

I hope that the £5 million, promised by Angus Council (for promenade refurbishment), still goes ahead in the not to distant future. Arbroath does have "natural" places of Beauty and Interest.. But an injection of Council Cash to upgrade coastal facilities for Tourists/Visitors is long overdue.... Businesses do help already!!! I don't think a "private funding initiative" (Full or Partial) is possible within Arbroath.

I see in the herald today that the folk who own the Jumpin Joeys are installing a log play area and other general improvements
Good for them!! |

That would encourage visitors from near and far for day trips and longer holiday/vacation periods.... Council funded and free at point of use.. of course... A great idea to achieve a greater interest in Arbroath!!!

Also, one of the climbing frames in the park at the links has been removed (to be replaced im assuming)
