Gary, what did I say that was so wrong? Do you really wish to insult me?
Planter, Yes. The local authority, in this case Aberdeenshire, are responsible for approving planning permission for building projects. As is the normal process the council infrastructure services committee voted on it, in this case against. It was very quickly called in by the Scottish Government claiming it was of national importance and too big for the council to decide upon.

Smokie, I'm aware of some of the new licensed premesis regulation you mention, there have been enormous changes in recent years. Mostly for the good I think.
I would hardly call it an insult, your jumping on the offended bus. I was only getting a straight talking point across. Its my nature. Ah well I'll maybe pop along some time again.

As for the Erskine church conversion I agree there IS over provision of the like...most pubs are DEAD most nights, unless a few old faithfulls.Comon get real a wine bar /bistro call it what you will in commerce street ?? And what about the peace of the residents in that area ? IF it opens and IF it attracted customers??. is it not the case if the old church is 'done up' with the aid of whatever grants available keep it for a few years then 're-develop' as flats ?. Im pretty sure grants wont be available to do the latter as it stands. In my view old churches that are converted into restaurants, bars etc look out of place and gross. If the proposers are so keen why not demolish it completely and start from scratch....thats what will need to happen anyway....if the structure is in as bad a state as reported. NO inbred attitude here....just common business sense. Get real and inoffensive GarryT.........dirtyden. Ive had my say and wont reply to offensive replies....ta ta |

What I stated in my previous submission was the truth/facts and they are based on a sound business footing. However anyone is free to disagree in a civilised manner. I NOTE YOU NOW DONT DEFEND TRUMP ! SO MUCH FOR MY STATEMENTS BEING BABBLE!! -----Run out of steam on that issue have we??--- Its your 'sort' that put this web site off the air before.-- You just get personal reading your inputs, and offensive, however it appears that is your sole intent.--You admit to that.-- I would ask the moderator to put YOU 'off the air' Im only sorry your hostile attitude has brought THIS reply from me, down to your level but clearly thats what you intended. The point of this site/forum is to have ones say in a tactful manner, yes things can get heated but there is never a need to get as offensive as your comments are. Are you really interested IN the topics? Think long and hard over that before another such input from the safety of you keyboard. Get real grow up or get help ! Definately wont respond to any further comments FROM YOU until you do. dirtyden |

From my perspective, suggesting that any member, let alone our moderator, has an "inbred attitude" has crossed the line.
Let cooler heads prevail. Thanks

Fair do's delete the thread. Delete my profile as well. If anyone has taken offence, well I could take offence at a lot of everyday things I come across on the so called hallowed ground of Arbroath, but I don't. I'm not that shallow, life throws up conundrums and I've always learn't to deal with them.
Get called a name in the street, ignore it and walk away. Get someone criticising you on here, maybe better to rise above it.
Sticks and stones may break my bones....
Farewell.
