Posted - 21 Sep 2011 : 12:54:03 PM Looking for information of the following. My mother Betsy (Betty) Beattie Cargill was born in Arbroath (1924) and grew up at 9 Old Shore. Her brothers were Alexander (Killed during WW2 while home on leave) Andrew, who had married Catherine, they had 4 children Andrew, Lorna, Sandra and 1 other, (sorry his name eludes me) Her other brother, David married Ella and they had three children, Linda, Marget and Robert. My grandfather was Andrew and his wife was Isabella. Any information will be very helpful
Posted - 24 Sep 2011 : 4:24:54 PM I have just checked the WW2 roll of honour for arbroath and district 1939-1945 and Alexander Cargill is not listed in this publication printed and published by T Buncle & Co Ltd market place arbroath . There are several other Cargills listed in its pages serving in the RN of WW2.
The Arbroath year books held in the Arbroath PUBLIC LIBRARY may have some names of your family members over the years .
