Not sure why removing benches will decrease the number of yobs hanging around outside the court. In fact, won't it make the situation, scaring the shoppers, worse due to now disgruntled brainless yobs not being able to have a seat. As for the litter argument (don't know where that came from...) add more trash cans - simple.

What is needed is a holding tank for the accused waiting trial. Not sure where to put it though, maybe underwater? smile

For, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

These benches like the others further up are disgusting. Rotting. The council maintains nothing in this town.

Yesterday i'd been out for a stroll around town and had nipped into Haq's for an ice cream, i fancied having a sit down to enjoy it, but alas, the benches outside the court are no longer present.

The benches were removed in August 2012 after complaints of people being harrased by "vulnerable" people who were hanging about the court for their cases, but not even 2 years later the court was closed (May 2014).

So my question is, can we have our benches back?
