See in the papers that Abbey Music shop latterly located on Kirk Square in arbroath closed its doors today , Saturday after 30 years of being in business . Abbey Music was started in 1980 by Terry Woods and when he retired in 2009 the business went over to Adeline Leonard who had been a part time 17 year old in the shop in 1980. Sadly the business closed when she closed it today. Seems the internet was the cause of the closure with items for sale at discount prices that a firm can compete with ........

Damn. I bought drum equipment from the shop before it moved to the Kirk Square from Guthrie Port. Sorry to see the place close I always looked in when home.

It's the same sad state of affairs everywhere I suppose.

More online purchasing and people tend to go to cities for their goods. I think the bizarre shop rates system needs overhauled as it makes little sense.

A photo of the new Abbey Music shop:

Business is good smile Terry Wood also pops in occasionally for a wee blether and a cuppy with Jim.
